A Leamington-based golf club has supported frontline staff with a donation.

When they were unable to hold their monthly '200 club draw' at Leamington and County Golf Club the 200 club members decided they would donate the proceeds of the April and May draws to the Covid-19 Staff Support Appeal run by the South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT), which runs Warwick Hospital.

The club captain Andrew Burlace and former club president Martin Bayley recently handed over a cheque for £1,200 to Eileen Rock and Jake Barlow from SWFT, which runs the support appeal for the staff.

The money will be used to further the development of “well-being rooms” that have been created to allow frontline workers to relax in comfortable surroundings following shifts on the Covid-19 frontline.

Club Captain Andrew Burlace said: “Many of our members benefit from the services that the hospital offers and to be able to make this donation on their behalf is an absolute privilege."
