Newly crowned Miss Leamington due to compete in virtual Miss England semi-final

Newly crowned Miss Leamington Taylor Louise is set to take part in the semi-final of the Miss England competition this month.

The talented singer-songwriter will take part in the virtual event, which will take place using the video conferencing app Zoom on July 31.

After releasing a statement of all the racial injustices she has endured throughout her life Taylor admitted that she cried when crowned Miss Leamington Spa this year.

She said it has taken her 22 years to open up and get past the bullying she'd once faced - and now wants to be living proof you can achieve anything you set your mind to regardless of how people try to make you feel.

Taylor, who was once driven to self-harm, added: "what is in the inside, and being truly happy, makes you beautiful."

Taylor has been busy raising funds and awareness in the Beauty with a Purpose section of the contest, and is sponsored by Millenium Balti who she has been working with representing their #missionawareness campaigns with issues such as plastic pollution and anti-bullying

Aproximately 40 Contestants from across England have been invited to submit three videos to enter this year's semi-final, which consists of an introduction, a catwalk and a talent video.

The current Miss England NHS Doctor Bhasha Mukherjee will be making a special appearance on the live stream along with other former Miss & Mr England & Miss UK winners.

The semi-final will be available to watch on a live stream for which places can be booked on the Miss England website
