Photos: How one street in Cubbington went that extra mile to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day

Streets across the Warwick district were covered in red, white and blue to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day on Friday (May 8).

But one street went that extra mile - High View Road in Cubbington.

Tom Unsworth sent us these photos of the street which was covered in bunting.

He said: "There's been a massive amount of effort put in by all the residents of High View Road.

"From miles of bunting to bingo, everybody has lent a hand and support with prizes and effort setting up.

"The day started with picnics on the drive followed by a kids quiz/street picture hunt.

"There was singing and guitar from Paul Wyllie and Songbird Gebby, whilst the residents ate curry and fish and chips collectively organised and delivered.

"To round things out we had a grown ups' quiz.

"We were visited by Warwickshire constabulary, who were very happy with our social distancing efforts and reported that this was the first street they had visited with such massive participation."
