Playbox Theatre in Warwick to hold outdoor programme of performances and events

Playbox Theatre at the Dream Factory in Warwick will hold a number of outdoor performances and events this summer.

With support from the King Henry VIII Endowed Trust charity,The Dream Factory’s outdoor Promenade space has been enclosed by rustic fencing and increased table provision.

There will be performances of Amor Vincit Omnia - Love Conquers All, The Merchant of Venice and several other projects.

The theatre has said:"After the unprecedented Covid-19 epidemic, no-one expects theatre or the wider arts to return as they were before.

"The summer Promenade will close with a forum for young people and guests to determine what sort of theatre is wanted and how it will serve both artists and audiences.

"Is this a time for complete reinvention?

"Do we want big stages or is small beautiful?

"Where do we go from here?"

"All dates and times of Outdoor Promenade will be announced very shortly and, today, as we receive the green light for a resumption of performances, we want to announce our plan.

"The entire August Programme is core to The Phoenix Project- created by Playbox Theatre to build back after the severe crisis.

"The company acknowledges huge support from Warwick District Council, Arts Council England, Heart of England Foundation, Charity of King Henry VIII and, above all, the many families, friends, members, alumni and anonymous donors who have rallied to keep the company going.

"Our Just Giving target of £50K is at the halfway point and further support is needed to keep the unique young peoples theatre secure for the future.

"We hope the Summer Outdoor Promenade will be a welcome return to live arts for both participants and audiences.

"Cafe Whirl will reopen and The Dream Factory buzzing with energy, enthusiasm and passion.
