Police promise strong presence at Rugby polling station where travellers have set up camp
A spokesperson said officers will be there to ensure residents can vote as normal
Police are promising a strong presence at a polling station in Rugby for the elections tomorrow, May 6, after travellers set up camp on the site.
Travellers recently set up camp at St Andrew’s Rugby Club on Ashlawn Road - a site designated for some Rugbeians to cast their votes at tomorrow.
And earlier today, May 5, a spokesperson for Warwickshire Police said: "We are working closely with the local council to make sure voting still goes ahead at the club.
"We will be maintaining a policing presence in the area tomorrow."
