Rugby Borough Football Club donates 500 Easter eggs to staff at St Cross

Rugby Borough Football Club has donated 500 Easter Eggs to the NHS Staff at Rugby's Hospital of St Cross.

Staff at St Cross have been working hard to provide more services in order to free up resources so UHCW in Coventry can deal with those infected with Covid-19.

The club's secretary Steve Turner said: "With this dreadful virus about, the seniors, girls and women and the boys clubs all thought it would be a great idea to donate these Easter eggs to the over-worked doctors and nurses at St Cross.

"They work extremely hard and have really stepped up to deliver a first-class service at the hospital.

"Some of the players' parents are NHS workers and we are all proud of them and what they do.

"So just to help a little the Easter eggs will be distributed across the site at St Cross to show that they are all appreciated for what they do.

"Some of our younger players commented on how nurses are helping people become better and how on every Thursday evening they have been supporting the NHS by clapping at 8pm.

"Some of our managers and coaches have signed up to deliver food shopping to vulnerable people through Rugby Borough Council and Warwickshire County Council and the club has lent 23 tables so Rugby Borough Council can set up the food bank at the Sports Centre

"The message from Rugby Borough Football Club is we are doing our bit for the community have a great Easter and keep safe.

"Oh, and enjoy the eggs."
