Three-times gold medallist impressed during special visit to Caldecott Park Bowling Club

England’s three-times Commonwealth Gold medallist Ellen Falkner MBE made a special visit to Caldecott Park Bowling Club in Rugby last month in support of their Open Day.

Ellen visited on Saturday. May 29, and spent time talking with members of the club and also gave an introductory bowls session to a visiting beginner.

She was promoting the Bowls England “Bowls Big Weekend 2021” campaign which involved over 690 participating clubs.

Honorary secretary Peter Aughton said: “As the only club in Warwickshire visited by Ellen, we were honoured and delighted to meet her.

"The open day was a wonderful opportunity to promote the sport locally and show the many improvements we have made to the club since 2020.”

Ellen was impressed by the bowling facilities and said she could see that visitors would receive a friendly welcome.
