Tributes have been paid to a much-loved market team member who was known by many residents and businesses in and around Warwick, Leamington and Kenilworth.

Market operators CJ’s Events Warwickshire have paid tribute to one of its employees, Geoff Perkins, who died yesterday (Wednesday February 3).

Carol Young of CJ's Events Warwickshire said: "I have known Geoff personally for 46 years and he has been a very close friend over this time.

"Since CJ's Events Warwickshire was formed, Geoff became part of our family and carried out many different job roles over the past six years.

"From being Market Manager for our Southam, Kenilworth, Leamington Farmers, Barton Marina and Lichfield Markets, in addition to general stewarding across Warwick District, he became a very popular member of our team.

"Many residents and businesses across Warwick District knew Geoff and would always stop for a quick chat when they saw him in town on duty.

"He was one of the many popular and well-known faces of our company. I am deeply saddened and heartbroken to lose a very close friend and a member of our team.

"It has been lovely to see many of our market traders and visitors sending in their condolences and memories of Geoff.

"Geoff was a real character who will never be forgotten, and he will be remembered for his dedication and absolute commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and safe environments for our markets and events.

"Our thoughts are with his daughter Carly, son Scott, and the rest of his family. He will be dearly missed."
