The branch will open on Thursday October 8.

Animal lovers will see a Vets4Pets practice and a Groom Room open inside the store.

The Vets4Pets practice will house a full operating theatre, digital X-ray facilities, in-house laboratory and a hospital ward providing a full range of treatments from health checks to emergency operations.

The Groom Room will offer a wide range of services including full grooming, bath and blow dry, puppy grooming and nail clipping, which are all important to a pet’s health and wellbeing.

Area manager, Sam Morgan-Smith, said: “There has always been a strong demand from Rugby pet owners for Pets at Home to come back to town, and we’re very pleased to have been able to grant them their wish and open a brand new, purpose built store at the Technology Retail Park.

“Pets at Home is committed to recruiting from the local area and I’m pleased we’ve found a team of talented individuals in Rugby. They’re all extremely passionate about pets and can’t wait to get started.”

Applicants go through a number of stages to assess their compatibility for the role. Those recruited are given the option to gain specialist qualifications in pet care during their career with Pets at Home.

Store manager, Phil Bevington, has been with Pets at Home for nearly 10 years, having previously worked at the Canley branch.

Phil said: “It’s been a busy few months and now my team and I can’t wait to open the doors and welcome our new customers and their pets to the store.”

Pets at Home Rugby will provide thousands of dedicated pet products, catering for dogs, cats, small animals, chickens, reptiles, birds and fish as well as wildlife.

The company, founded in 1991, has more than 400 sites across the UK employing more than 6,000 people and is proud to have won The Sunday Times Top 25 Best Big Companies to Work For 2013.
