A young dancer from Rugby is following the yellow brick road to stardom after winning a place in a top competition.
Phoebe Saturley, eight, will perform at the All England Dance Competition at the Bloomsbury Theatre in London.
The Henry Hinde Junior School pupil has always been passionate about singing, dancing and performing.
She said: “I’m really looking forward to going to London and performing my Wizard of Oz routine with my dog Toto.
“His name is fluffy when he is not in character!”
Phoebe has attended the Christine Anderson Theatre School in Hillmorton for four years.
“I’ve always enjoyed dancing and theatre is my favourite.”
Proud parents Lisa and Ian say they get more nervous than Phoebe when she takes part in a show.
“Phoebe just gets excited,” said Lisa.
“She takes part in all aspects of dance - theatre, stage, ballet and jazz. Phoebe has performed in Cinderella at Rugby Theatre and Whistle Down the Wind. It makes my husband and I so proud to see her smile beaming on the stage. It brings tears to my eyes.”
Her dance teacher at C.A.T.S choreographed her Wizard of Oz performance, which includes a medley of songs from the cult film.
The All England Dance Competition take place from July 27 to August 4.
