An award-winning care home has marked its first year in Rugby with a 1950s party.
Anya Court, in Dunchurch Road, put on a swinging celebration for residents, relatives and members of the community with a party complete with 1950s fancy dress, props and entertainment provided by singer Jessie Bolas.
Customer relationship manager, Karen Handley, said: “We had a lot of fun celebrating our milestone. We have a strong, committed team at Anya who enable our residents to live full, active and independent lives. I would like to thank them for their continued support.”
Among the 50 guests, who attended was Anya Court’s first resident, Joan Ridgway, who attended the home’s grand launch with television presenter John Craven last year.
Joan, 97 said: “It was a lovely day and a lot of fun. I am really happy here.”
Rugby Mayor Councillor Richard Dodd also attended the event.
He said: “I was delighted to attend the first year anniversary celebration at Anya Court Care Home and had the opportunity to meet with staff and residents whilst being entertained in true 1950s style.
“All the staff were great fun in their costumes and the residents had nothing but praise for the care, support and facilities provided. I would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff and residents for making my visit such a memorable occasion.”
