Plea for witnesses to attempted robbery in Rugby

Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery that took place in Rugby on Sunday, May 15.

The incident occurred between 1.30am and 1.50am when an 18-year-old man was walking on Railway Terrace in the direction of the train station.

He was approached by two men who assaulted him and pushed him against a wall and one of the suspects tried to take the victim’s phone, causing it to the fall to the ground and sustain damage.

The suspects then left the scene without the phone in the direction of Wood Street.

The suspects are believed to be two white males in their twenties. One was described as wearing a cap, grey trousers, a grey sweatshirt and white shoes and the other suspect was believed to be wearing a black top.

Investigating officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the offence or who has any information. Please call Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 34 of Sunday, May 15.
