Police appeal for witnesses after assault in Leamington

Police are appealing for information following an assault in Leamington on Thursday April 2.

The victim, a 30-year-old man, was in his car in a lay by on Prospect Road at about 8.30am and was attempting to pull out onto the road.

A white transit van drove past and the victim beeped his horn at him as he believed he was speeding, the driver of the van then stopped in front of the victim’s car, a black Vauxhall Astra.

The driver got out of his car and approached the victim; a verbal altercation took place between the two men and resulting in the van driver punching the victim in the face through the open car window. The man then got back into his van and drove away.

The victim suffered minor injuries to his face which required hospital treatment.

Warwickshire Police is appealing for anyone who witnessed or heard the altercation to come forward by calling police on 101, quoting incident 36 of April 2 2015.
