Police appeal for witnesses to serious crash on the A5 in Clifton upon Dunsmore

TWO elderly people have been seriously hurt in an accident.

The collision occurred on the A5 near Rugby on Wednesday and involved a black Ford Focus which was travelling north from the direction of Crick and a silver Peugeot 207 which was crossing the A5 from Rugby Road into Lilbourne Road.

The driver of the Peugeot, a 76 year old man, and his 77 year old female passenger suffered serious injuries and were taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire. Their condition is described as serious but stable.

The male driver of the Ford Focus was treated at the scene.
