Police appealing for information after robbery in Rugby

Police are appealing for information after a robbery took place in Rugby last night.

Detectives are investigating the incident which took place in Polo Drive in the Cawston area at around 7.15pm.

Two men are thought to have forced their way into an address on the road before they threatened the homeowners and asked for their valuables.

The two men have been described as white, of a large build and were approximately 6ft tall.

Both were described as wearing dark clothing and also had their faces covered.

Detective Sergeant Alistair Knight is leading the investigation into the incident. He said: “I would like to reassure the local community that this is an isolated incident and there is no evidence to suggest that this is part of an ongoing series.

“Nobody was injured and we are working to support the victims which will continue throughout the investigation.

“I would like to take this opportunity to appeal for information and ask anyone who has any further information to contact police. A wallet, which was stolen from the address, was recovered by a member of public on the A45.

“I urge that individual to come forward to police because you could hold vital information that could assist the investigation.”
