Police headquarters will be up for sale next year

WARWICKSHIRE Police Authority is pressing on with its plans to sell the former police headquarters in Leek Wootton along with the stations in Warwick and Wellesbourne.

The sites are among six which have been earmarked for sale by the authority as part of its plans to reduce spending by £22.9 million by March 31 2015.

National commercial property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton has been instructed to market the historic Grade II-listed former headquarters along with the stations, which have been deemed surplus to the authority’s requirements.

Other sites include stations in Coleshill, Alcester and Henley-in-Arden.

The Leek Wootton estate, bought by Warwickshire County Council in 1947 and used by the force since 1949, will be marketed in the new year once the authority has gained outline planing consent for care village use for which it submitted an application in September.

The stations are due to be advertised for sale by mid-December.
