Two men were taken to hospital following an attack in Rugby town centre on New Year’s Day.

Police investigating the assault are appealing for help from the public to identify the offender.

Two men, one aged 22 and the other aged 23, were assaulted in Market Place at about 5.30am on January 1.

Both were taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire, one with a suspected broken nose and the other with cuts to the head which required stitches.

The offender is described as a white male in his 20s, 6ft tall, slim to medium build with short light brown or blonde hair. He was wearing a dark coloured hooded top and fingerless gloves which may have been red and white.
