TWO homes in Binley Woods were broken into yesterday (Monday).

Police are appealing for information following the burglaries in two properties in Heather Road, Binley Woods.

A man who was out canvassing for the local elections discovered one of the houses had been broken in to when he called at a property shortly after 6.30pm on Monday evening.

In the second incident, which police believe is linked, a bungalow on the same road was broken into some time between 2.30pm and 3.45pm on Monday. A man’s wristwatch and a small amount of money was taken.

A witness has reported seeing a silver coloured Peugeot car, with a rear spoiler, parked on the driveway of the first house which was burgled, during Sunday evening.

A man, aged around 20 years old, of stocky build, and dressed in a white t-shirt was also seen on the driveway at the time.

Although the burglaries took place on Monday, police believe the sighting on Sunday may have been linked to the burglaries.

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in Heather Road on Sunday evening or during Monday day time, or anyone who has any information relating to the identity of the male with the car.

They are asked to contact the Acquisitive Crime Team at Rugby on (01788) 853769, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 where the information can be given anonymously.
