Police identify man who was rushed to hospital in critical condition after being found in a Rugby street

Police have identified the young man who was found lying injured on a Rugby street in the early hours.

Shortly after 3am on February 22 officers were called to Newbold Road after concerns were raised for the welfare of a male.

Police and paramedics attended and found the young man in the street with serious injuries to his face.

An appeal to identify the man was launched on the same day and this morning, February 23, a spokesperson for Warwickshire Police said: "The male has now been identified and the incident is being treated as a medical episode.

"Thank you to everyone who shared our original appeal."
