Last Sunday four youths on push bikes were reported to be at a bridge near Woodbridge Court at around 1.35pm, when it is believed they shouted racially abusive words to a man walking below.

The incident was reported to the police by a member of the public.

The victim, who has been described as an Asian man, continued walking away from the area and officers are now urging him to contact them so that the relevant help and support can be offered.

PC Raj Panesar of Warwickshire Police said: “Every hate crime is one too many; we want to hear each and every time you are a victim of hate crime.

“Tackling hate crime is one of our key priorities and all reports will be thoroughly investigated and support offered to victims.

“The witness did exactly the right thing in reporting this incident to police and I would urge the victim to contact us on 101, quoting incident number 168 of 20 November.”
