Police widen search for missing Warwick man

Officers continuing to search for 38-year-old Bernard Tandi have widened their search to Coventry after learning that he lived there for several years.

Mr TANDI, who also goes by the names of ‘Ben’ or ‘Benjamin’ was reported missing on January 3 after he was last seen at his home address in Portobello Way in Warwick early on New Year’s Day.

Det Sgt Carl Buckley, who is leading the search, said “It is now almost three weeks since Mr Tandi was reported missing and we are very concerned for his welfare.

“Since he was reported missing he has failed to attend his place of work or make contact with any family or friends. We are now widening our search to appeal for people in Coventry to please come forward and let us know if they have seen him.

Mr Tandi is described as an African man, 5’9” tall, of a medium build with black short hair and brown eyes. It is not known what clothing he could be wearing but he usually wears jeans and he is a smoker.

The family of Mr Tandi say his disappearance is completely out of character.

Officers are continuing to conduct searches of places he is known to frequent but so far these have been inconclusive. Posters and leaflets have also been distributed asking anyone with information on his possible whereabouts to come forward.

Anyone who sees Mr Tandi or who may have information about his location, either in Warwick or elsewhere, is asked to contact Warwickshire Police on 101 or 01926 415000.
