Pony gets stuck in the river at Southam

FIREFIGHTERS from Southam were in action yesterday (Sunday) morning when a horse got stuck in a river.

One fire engine from Southam and the boat crew from Rugby were called to the Leamington Polo ground on the A425 in Southam at around 9.45am.

A polo pony had got trapped in the river by the ground.

The crews used lifting gear, strops, lines and a front load digger to rescue the pony, which was uninjured in the incident.
