It’s been ten years since the first Rugby Rokeby Lions fundraising walk around Draycote Water - but there’s no sign of tiredness creeping into the legs.
This year’s event takes place on Sunday September 8 and is in aid of the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.
Some £40,000 has been raised from previous walks - and the organisers are hopeful of adding significantly to that total.
Lions spokesman Terry Byrne said: “Like the Lions Club, the air ambulance serves its community and relies solely on donations from the public.”
In 2005, the then President of Rugby Rokeby Lions Club, Doug Evans, decided his chosen charity for his year in office would be the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. This year the air ambulance celebrates ten years of life-saving work across Warwickshire & Northamptonshire by providing advanced clinical care, giving their patients the best chance of survival and recovery.
