‘Ranjit from Rugby’ is now out of a BBC quiz show after three weeks but still walked away with £22,500.

Ranjit Virk from Cawston is now out of the National Lottery: Who Dares Wins after three weeks of shows.

Ranjit said: “I’m gutted!”

The father of five, who is a financial adviser, won £7,500 in the first week and then another £7,500 the following two weeks.

His game-show partner Hayley also won the same amount after the pair completed a series of lists.

Contestants on the show come back week after week until they are defeated.

They lost on a list in which they had to name nominees for Sports Personality of the Year since 2006.

Ranjit said: “It’s been great. It’s so much down to luck. Everyone has been so nice. I keep being spotted around town!”

Ranjit is planning to take his family on holiday with the winnings.
