RUGBY people are being asked whether they are happy with the town’s recycling facilities.
After Warwickshire County Council slashed £900,000 from its waste management budget, the authority now wants to know how people feel about the changes. Under the new arrangements the Hunters Lane site in Rugby is operated directly by Warwickshire County Council with weekday opening of six hours a day. The reshaped service has enabled seven-day opening to remain at Warwickshire’s eight busiest sites and the county council has maintained control of all of them, including providing of technical and management support.
Cllr Alan Cockburn, council cabinet member for ‘sustainable communities’, said: “The county council has worked hard to find new ways to deliver the best possible service within our financial means. We now want to know how the reshaped service is working for residents.”
