Magpies Dress Agency celebrated its major rebranding and shop refurbishment with an official opening event at its lovingly restored Grade II -listed premises in Crick.

Offering pre-loved, high-end quality ladies’ clothing and accessories, Magpies is now run by Judith and Harriet Ogden, who hope that customers old and new will welcome the new look, new feel and extensive, ever-changing stock.

The mother and daughter team have worked overtime on striking the right chord between a fresh new image that still complements their traditional building that is so typical of historical Crick.

“We pride ourselves on providing top quality ladies clothing in pristine condition at just a fraction of the original price,” said Judith.

“We are sure that our customers will enjoy discovering some very affordable gems in our new home.”

Judith’s daughter, Harriet, who is a fashion student and ultimately has her eyes set on a career in the industry, added: “With such a high turnover of stock, every day is different at Magpies.

“On the odd occasion I might have an alternative opinion about an item I think would appeal to a younger customer, but I love working with mum, who has always had a great eye for stylish clothes.”

The outlet is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm.

For items sold, there is a 50/50 split. Upon agreement, some unsold clothing is donated to charity.

So far, Magpies has supported Bradby Boys’ Club, Air Ambulance, Banardo’s, British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research, Cats Protection, Cynthia Spencer Hospice, Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, Myton Hospice, Samaritans, The Ear Foundation and local schools.

Magpies also welcomes enquiries to sell nearly-new seasonal designer and high street labelled clothing.
