It seems size does matter at Ed’s Easy Diner.
The new Rugby branch, at Elliott’s Field shopping park, serves up a range of tasty and pretty sizeable burgers, hot dogs and grills.
We went down for lunch this afternoon (Thursday, December 10) and certainly weren’t disappointed.
The bacon and cheese burger was rich, succulent and grilled to perfection. Teaming up with an Ed’s plate seemed to be the best value option as it included a generous portion of fries, onion rings and a side of coleslaw for around £12.
Catering well for vegetarians and those who fancy something a little different, the spicy cajun burger worked really well with Ed’s burger sauce and again an Ed’s plate to provide some crunch.
The American diner is famous for its milkshakes and it didn’t take us long to work out why.
Our waiter assured us the shakes were ‘99 per cent ice cream and 1 per cent milk’ and he was absolutely right.
Rich and creamy, the Nutella and strawberry shakes were practically a dessert themselves, and the presentation added to the authentic American diner experience.
A warm chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream completed the day’s sugar overload in the best possible way, and the impressive Kit Kat sundae was tough to beat.
The diner boasts a great atmosphere and soundtrack, and its generous portions and tasty menu make it well worth the trip to Leicester Road.
