Road reopens after lorry collides with telegraph pole

A road in Rugby was temporarily blocked today after a lorry collided with a telegraph pole.

The incident happened around 1pm on Nelson way.

A spokesman from Warwickshire Police said: “We were called just before 1pm with reports that a large goods vehicle had collided with a telegraph pole in Nelson Way. Officers attended and the pole was found to be blocking the road.

“The telecoms company and the council were informed as there was damage to the pole and to a man hole cover. The road was cleared as of 2.10pm.

“There were no reports of any injuries.”
