OVER 80 disadvantaged youngsters in Romania will be waking up to at least one package on Christmas morning thanks to youngsters at Long Lawford primary school.
The school have been working with development charity Samaritan’s Purse and the rest of the community in Long Lawford to help bring Christmas job to a country where 25 per cent of people live below the poverty line.
Rob Morrissey, head teacher, said: “Children, parents, carers, grandparents and the community of Long Lawford always generously support our annual shoebox appeal.
“It forms a key part of our Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural studies. It also enables children to learn about and reflect upon the lives of others.
“As one child summed up, ‘I did a shoebox to help children who don’t have things like us.’”
