A CRICK teenager with a passion for DIY has been declared the winner of a nationwide competition.

People aged between 11 and 16 had been invited to enter a contest to become B&Q’s young DIY ambassador of the year.

Five shortlisted candidates came together last month to join the team at B&Q for the judging day. This included sharing examples of their work with the judging panel and taking part in a workshop where they made their very own tool box.

Rose Canham, 15, from Crick, was crowned the winner and given the title of Young DIYer of the Year for her enthusiasm about the work that she put together for the project.

Architect and Channel 4 presenter, George Clarke, who was part of the judging panel, said he was ‘incredibly impressed’ by Rose.
