CHILDREN at 17th Rugby United Reformed Church Rainbow Unit have been celebrating the royal wedding as part of a project.

Activities included making cards for Prince William and Kate, baking and singing.

A highlight was a visit from church member Pat Petrie, who knitted the royal wedding party complete with balcony scene.

Unit leader Jenny Martin said: “The girls noticed that the colours of the outfits worn by the Royal Family were different to those worn on the day. Mrs Petrie explained that the pattern was issued prior to the wedding and nobody knew the colours of the outfits to be worn.”

Mrs Petrie presented the girls with badges for their hard work.
