The Rugbeards were out in full force spreading festive cheer at the town’s Christmas light switch-on on Saturday.

The men have been filling their beards with flowers from Garden Gate in Regent Street and having their photos shown at an exhibition to raise money for the homeless charity, Hope 4.

But Saturday’s event saw the Rugbeards decked in Christmas baubles and lights to help celebrate Rugby’s switch-on and promote the charity.

The Rugbeards are pictured at St Andrew’s Church with Rev Imogen Nay.

The initiative was put together by Simon Ainley, owner of Garden Gate Flowers, photographer Jamie Gray, and Matt Robinson, owner of Mister Robinsons Barbershop.

The fundraiser is also supporting the Matt Hampson Foundation, which helps people seriously injured through sport. Photograph by Jamie Gray.
