A Rugby care home has been named ‘Best Care Home’ at a national awards ceremony.
Anya Court, in Dunchurch Road, was praised for the design of its care facilities at the Pinders Healthcare Design Awards held at the Lancaster London Hotel in Westminster.
The awards, first established in 1999, acknowledge the contribution made by the owners of care homes, hospitals and other care schemes to the well-being and quality of life for those in their care.
Karen Handley, Anya Court’s customer relationship manager, said: “We are so proud to have won this award. It’s fantastic recognition of our amazing facilities and outstanding level of care.
“Thank you to our care team, our residents and their family and friends for turning bricks and mortar into a place that the residents can call home.”
A panel of expert judges visited the home last month, along with two of its competitors, before coming to their decision.
It was Anya Court’s attention to detail, and their use of outdoor space which they make available to residents which set them apart from other entrants
Entrants were judged on room and en suite sizes, facilities made available to residents, use of outdoor space, level of ambiance and interior and exterior design.
Panel expert and director of Pinders, Jon Chapman, said: “It was Anya Court’s attention to detail, and their use of outdoor space which they make available to residents which set them apart from other entrants.”
Anya Court, opened in October 2014 by television presenter John Craven, provides residential, nursing, and dementia care and its facilities include a hair salon, therapy room and emporium shop.
