St Andrew’s Church in Rugby is looking to appoint a temporary organist for an initial period of six months starting on September 1, ahead of the arrival of its new musical director.
It holds a Choral Eucharist service every Sunday morning and one Cathedral-style Evensong each month (plus a monthly unaccompanied Compline). There is a mixed choir of 14 experienced voices with a weekly choir practice on Thursday evening.
The organ is a three-manual and pedal Hill, mostly dating from 1905 (though there is pipe work back to 1650), rebuilt and enlarged by Hill in 1965, and again by Peter Spencer in 2007.
There is a monthly fee on offer and additional fees will apply for playing at weddings and funerals.
Anybody interested should send a CV and covering letter to the Parish Office, St Andrew’s Church, Church Street, Rugby, CV21 3PT.
Selected candidates will be invited to an audition and interview on the afternoon of Sunday, August 21.
