Ex-smokers in Rugby have been sharing their tips for quitting the habit.
This year’s eX-Smoker Factor contest is underway in Warwickshire and there are prizes lined up for winners who share their tales of giving up.
Among those are two women from Rugby who ditched the cigarettes when they got pregnant.
Seeing their growing bumps made them take drastic action.
“I gave up when I found out I was pregnant,” said Trish Stringfellow,
“Stopping smoking was really difficult but really worth it,” she said.
“Now I feel better and I sleep better. The NHS stop smoking service is free and I wouldn’t have done it without them.”
Warwickshire County Council last year launched eX-Smoker Factor, and already this year a number of people have started to share their stories of giving up.
Prizes include Tesco vouchers, tickets to Warwick Castle and a year’s car park pass to a Warwickshire County Council country park.
