A ten-year-old girl from Rugby sung in front of Eva Longoria, Victoria Beckham, and Princess Beatrice of York as part of a charity gala to raise funds for children with serious and life-limiting conditions.

Amelia Mahoney has Beckwith Wiedemann Syndrome, a congenital overgrowth syndrome, and she performed alongside 12 other choir members to raise money for children’s charity Rays of Sunshine.

The choir was joined by English tenor and Rays of Sunshine ambassador, Alfie Boe.

He said: “I absolutely loved performing Bring Me Sunshine with Amelia and the Rays of Sunshine Children’s Choir at the Global Gift Gala.

“They are all complete superstars and it was the absolute highlight of my evening. Rays of Sunshine is a charity which is very close to my heart and I plan to do as much as I can to continue helping them to brighten lives of seriously- ill children and young people.”

Amelia said she loves to sing and dance.

And in March this year, Rays of Sunshine granted her wish to meet Ant and Dec and watch Saturday Night Takeaway live.

Due to her condition, Amelia has had to endure multiple surgeries, spending a lot of time in hospital.

The 9th annual Global Gift Gala, organised by Maria Bravo and Eva Longoria, took place at the Rosewood Hotel in London on Friday November 2.

Every year The Global Gift Foundation chooses a UK charity as a beneficiary on the night.

This year, Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity was thrilled to be selected as the local beneficiary alongside The Eva Longoria Foundation and Casa Global Gift.

Other celebrity attendees of the Global Gift Gala included Rays of Sunshine ambassador Olly Murs, Ronan and Stormy Keating, Holly Branson, Amanda Holden, Nile Rodgers, and Tana Ramsay.

The evening was complete with performances by Melanie C, Gary Dourdan, Alesha Dixon, Shingai and, finally, Alfie Boe with the Rays of Sunshine Children’s Choir.
