The highest ever try scorer for the England rugby team will be the special guest at this year’s Rugby Business Excellence Awards.
The awards return on July 17 and special guest Rory Underwood will be sharing his national and international achievements in the birthplace of the game.
He occupies a unique position in rugby as Britain’s second most capped player and highest ever try scorer.
Rory enjoyed and honours-studded rugby career and spent 18 years in the Royal Air Force and earned the rank of Flight Lieutenant.
He won the BBC Midlands Today Sports Personality of the Year in 1991 and was awarded an MBE in 1992.
Rory is now a motivational speaker and runs a management development consultancy. He is also an assistant coach for the Leicester Tigers.

This year’s categories are: New Business of the Year (less than two years established); Long Standing Business of the Year (over 10 years established); Small Business of the Year (under 30 employees); Medium Business of the year (between 30-50 employees); Large Business of the Year (over 50 employees); Excellence in Customer Care; Marketing and Communications Awards; Innovation and Technology Award; Business Person of the Year; Town Centre Outlet of the Year; Overall Business of the Year. This year’s ceremony will be on July 17 at the Benn Hall, Rugby. It will feature a meal, guest speakers, entertainment and the all important awards ceremony itself.
