Rugby man charged with historic sex offences

A 46-year-old Rugby man has been charged with sex offences which he allegedly committed in the 1980s and the 1990s.

Ronald Phillip Dickens, of Phipps Avenue, has been charged with one count of the rape of a female over 16, which allegedly occurred in November 1985, he was also charged with one count of sexual assault on a female over 16, which allegedly occurred in August 1997.

Both offences were committed in Rugby.

He appeared before Leamington Magistrates Court on Thursday and was released on conditional bail.

He will appear before Warwick Crown Court at 10am on Thursday April 21.
