CROWDS of people flocked to the opening of a new shop in Rugby on Friday.

The Range, at Junction One Retail Park, was officially opened at 9am on Friday.

The shop was opened by owner and founder of The Range Chris Dawson and the Mayor of Rugby, Councillor Kathryn Lawrence.

Customers who attended the opening were queuing outside the shop whilst the ribbon was cut.

The Ranges’ move to Rugby follows on from the huge success of the retail giants stores in the other 68 locations across the UK.

As well as bringing The Range to Rugby, the venture has also created around 150 part and full-time jobs, from store and department managers to warehouse and admin staff.

Mr Dawson said: “Opening the doors and welcoming shoppers of the Rugby area is a fantastic reward for all the preparation we have done to get the store ready. We are a growing business and our success is down to the fact we are able to offer customers a wide variety of products at unbeatable prices. Once someone visits one of our stores, not only will they come back, they’ll also bring their friends and family, which is a great compliment.”
