Rugby MP backs strike out fire campaign

Rugby MP Mark Pawsey is backing a campaign to stop matches and lighters being sold to children.

He has joined forces with Warwickshire Fire and Rescue and Warwickshire Police to call upon shops to refuse sales to youngsters.

Mark said: “There is no minimum age for purchasing matches and lighters but since October of 2007 it has been illegal for under 18s to purchase tobacco products. I do not see any reasonable justification for youngsters to be buying matches and lighters and fully support the Fire and Rescue Service’s Strike Out campaign.”
