Rugby MP Mark Pawsey has donated money to the Friends of St Cross appeal to help improve the blood taking unit at the town’s hospital.
Mr Pawsey said: “I was delighted to meet with two of the charity’s two hundred volunteers who give up their time to run a help desk to take patients to their appointment locations, run the outpatients department café and assist patients during certain operations and through their recoveries.
“I have always fought hard for our local hospital and wanted to show my support for the Friends of St Cross by helping raise money for their Diamond Jubilee Appeal.
“The charity do such incredible work within our local community by donating £100,000 ever year.
“I was delighted to do my bit to help the Friends of St Cross reach their £60,000 target in order that they may relocate the hospital’s phlebotomy service. The Appeal has already raised more than £36,000 and I hope many more local residents will donate and help the charity reach its target.”
