Rugby Care Centre resident May Draper – real name Alice – celebrated her 101st birthday on Monday and was treated to a party with close family and friends.
Former GEC worker May first moved to Rugby in the 1940s after getting married and, after a short time away, moved back to live in the Overslade area.
She has two daughters, Doreen and Janet, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
When asked how it felt to reach 101, May said: “It feels great! I have lots of nice family and everyone looks after me here.”
