A teenage boy was sentenced to a six month detention after being charged with multiple sexual offences on women in Rugby.
The 16-year-old, who cannot be named because of his age, was given a four month detention and must complete a training order after committing eight sexual offences in Rugby between September and October this year.
He was also sentenced to a six month detention and training order for an additional sexual offence which took place on Thursday 10th December in the town.
The sentences will be run concurrently and the boy must comply with a sexual harm prevention order for five years after appearing at Leamington Youth Court on December 15.
Speaking about the case, detective inspector Anna Middleton said: “All of the offences were against lone females in the Rugby area where the offender was found to have committed a sexual assault by inappropriately touching them.
“This sentence shows that any kind of inappropriate or unwanted sexual touching is an offence and will be treated very seriously when reported to police.
“We hope that this sentence is a stark reminder that any kind of sexual contact is an offence unless you have consent.”
