Rugby town centre shoppers get free parking offer

Shoppers will be able to park for free at the town centre's John Barford car park at weekends during the run-up to Christmas.

The free parking offer launches this Sunday, 20 November 20 – the day of the town centre Christmas lights switch-on – and runs every weekend until Christmas Eve.

Shoppers can park for free at the John Barford after 10am on Saturdays and Sundays, with 570 spaces available.

Cllr Heather Timms, Rugby Borough Council portfolio holder for growth and investment, said: “We want to encourage residents to keep it local this Christmas and support our town centre stores and businesses.

“Rugby already has some of the lowest car park charges in the county, but by offering free parking at the John Barford during the run-up to Christmas we hope to deliver a seasonal boost to the town centre and its businesses.”
