Rugby Town Guides gave residents of Overslade House a tour of the town by Rugby .

They enjoyed a day out visiting local landmarks and learning about the history of Salters, Webb Ellis, Rugby School, Rupert Brook and Tom Brown.

Keith Ward, who is one of the 15 trained guides, said: “It was a really good day and great to be able to give people the chance to get out.”

The guides have helped a number of care homes in Rugby and plan to start tours again soon.

Jo Sawyer, activities co-ordinator at Overslade House in Rugby, said: “Rugby Town Guides were all very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and very proud of Rugby, its culture and history.

“One of our residents, Barry Siddaway, commented on his fond memories of Dukes Jetty as a meeting point, and the dance halls. We had a very interesting morning, and want to thank Keith Ward and his team for a job well done.”
