AN EXHIBITION showcasing this year’s calendar competition winners will be held at the Rugby Borough Council’s Visitor Centre from tomorrow (Tuesday).
The competition, sponsored by Max Spielmann, was open to anybody, of any age, who wanted the chance to have their image displayed in the gallery and their picture included in the 2013 Rugby Calendar.
The overall winner this year was Ian Hitchcock with his “Canal Reflections” entry.
The exhibition runs from tomorrow (Tuesday) until Saturday, July 21 in Floor One Gallery at Rugby Art Gallery & Museum.
Opening times are Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm Saturdays 9am to 4pm. Closed on Sundays. Entry is free and there is full disabled access.
All the entries submitted for the competition will be displayed alongside those chosen for the calendar by the judging panel.
Each year Rugby Visitor Centre produces a calendar depicting images of the town and surrounding villages, giving both visitors and local residents the chance to have a reminder of the town on display in their homes throughout the whole year.
The calendar uses images submitted by residents, as the view you see when walking along the canal, looking across the fields, or just walking down your road, is one that can be summed up best by the people that live in Rugby and know the most beautiful views, from the quirkiest locations, within the town and villages.
The 2013 calendar will be on sale for £7.99 from Rugby Visitor Centre in the foyer of the building. Please call 01788 533217 for more information.
