Rugby wins Heart of England’s in Bloom competition with impressive floral displays

The borough’s colourful floral displays and rugby-themed features have won the title of Overall Winner at this year’s in Bloom competition.

The long awaited Gold, Silver-Gilt, Silver and Bronze awards achieved the in the Heart of England in Bloom Campaign were announced today (Thursday September 10) by the Heart of England in Bloom Committee at a presentation event held at the Benn Hall, hosted by Rugby Borough Council.

Over 180 delegates from 47 entries of villages, towns, urban communities and cities within the Heart of England region attended the event along with representatives from some of the 31 entrants in the Hotel and Pub Grounds Campaign.

Chairman of Heart of England in Bloom, Roger Bache, said: “Entrants give a lot of time and effort to make where they live and work a nicer, safer place to be and are very proud when they receive their prestigious awards. This year the RHS set the theme of Greening the Grey Britain and in our region they certainly did!”
