Runner sought in police investigation into Leamington assault

Police are trying to trace a runner who may have witnessed an attack on a man in Leamington that left him with facial injuries.

The 39-year-old victim was knocked to the ground in Victoria Terrace outside the Next Stop newsagents on Tuesday March 4 at about 7pm. He suffered injuries to his cheek and ear.

While he was on the ground, a runner stopped and helped him up.

There were other people in the area at the time, including some who were waiting for a bus, and Pc Sara Skinner would like to hear from any of them who may have witnessed the incident.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently on bail.
