Scallywags Hair Studio has celebrated 25 years of business.

The Regent Street salon, owned by Kay and Trevor Wagg and managed for 25 years by award-winning hairdresser Kerry Wagg, marked the milestone with an 80s-themed day.

Kerry, who lives in Bilton, said: “Our 25 year celebration was fantastic and everyone looked great in their 80s outfits. The team really enjoyed it and the customers had a great time.”

The salon provided services at ‘80s prices’ and clients were treated to a glass of bubbly and a buffet.

Kerry said: “We would like to thank all our loyal clients who have supported us throughout our 25 years here and we look forward to welcoming new clients in the near future.”

Kay Wagg, who owned a salon in Rugby before setting up Scallywags for her daughter Kerry, said: “Training has always been one of my top priorities and I think that’s one of the reasons why the salon has been so successful. We make sure all staff have thorough training and plenty of support and it means they really enjoy their job.”

Kay encouraged Kerry to get into hairdressing from an early age and she went on to win gold and bronze medals with the British junior squad in hairdressing competitions at Wembley.

Beryl Emery, who has been visiting the salon since it opened, said she was very pleased it had reached the milestone.

“There’s always a nice atmosphere and the team are absolutely lovely,” she said.

“They provide a great service at very reasonable prices and I enjoy coming in for a cup of tea and a chat,” she added.

The salon originally opened with the slogan ‘Scallywags - the naughtiest prices in town’.
