School holds balloon launch event for pupils to remember loved ones

The Leamington school held a special mass before holding the launch for which youngsters had wrote messages of remembrance and attached them to the balloons.

The launch was the idea of seven-year-old pupil Teddy Elvin, whose mother Donna works for Henry Ison and Sons funeral directors which sponsored the event.

Mrs Elvin said: “It was really special that he brought it to our attention.

“Funeral directors are constantly looking to raise their profile in the community so it was nice to have a child’s input and to work with the school.”

The proceeds from fundraising on the day will help to pay for repairs to the school’s play area and play equipment.
